Lunch Time Activities
Our Activities Captains organise fun activities for all children at Weeden Heights Primary School.
We provide a number and variety of choices of activities for students at lunch times. We recognise that for some students they may need some structure during this longer break. Activities vary depending on the day and time of the year and can include board games, Lego and computer games.
Some activities are organised by the activities captains and school leaders. These include skipping lessons, sand castle competitions, drawing classes and environmental activities.
The Kitchen Garden is a passive, quiet place for students to wander and experience our free range chickens.
The giant chess is also a favourite with many students.
The school Library and Computer Lab are also open on selected days.
Funworks operates on Wednesday lunch times run by adult volunteers. It aims to engage students through purposeful, structured play.
Our activities are designed to work both inside and outside the classroom depending on the weather and the time of the year.
